Rugby and Vehicle Wrapping?

Fri, Oct 19, 2007

The Hampshire Chronicle News reports Sam Williams completed the ultimate conversion when he got his team of vehicle wrapping technicians to wrap two 40-foot articulated lorries, turning them into shining emblems for the England rugby team, and one of its sponsors.

Williams told the Hampshire Chronicle, “I run a specialist vehicle-wrapping business, Raccoon, based in Durley. I secured a deal to wrap two vehicles, and when they turned up they were monsters! My team worked fast, though, and got the livery onto the vehicles in a single day.”

According to the story, the lorries, which are 15 feet high, were used to take the England team’s excess baggage from England to France before the two countries battle it out in the semi-final match.

Vehicle wrapping is a bona fide trend from sea to shining sea and in many other nations. Is it possible that one day we’ll see fleets of vehicles coasting around town wrapped from head to toe? In case you’re wondering what a lorrie is, it’s a semi-truck. ;-)
