On Thursday, March 8, HP took the stage at the Photo Marketing Association’s (PMA) annual convention with an exciting announcement for graphic artists and professional photographers. HP unveiled a new collection of color sciences called HP DreamColor Technologies that makes it easy to produce accurate, predictable and consistent color across a series of digital devices and applications.

“As the leader in digital color solutions, we are continually looking for ways to help our customers be successful. One of their biggest issues is around accurate and predictable color across viewing and printing devices,” said HP Executive Vice President of Imaging and Printing Vyomesh (VJ) Joshi. “Today, with HP DreamColor Technologies, HP is putting our customers back in control of their creative process.”

HP DreamColor Technologies draw on HP’s 25 years of printing leadership. This system was originally conceived to help meet a request for color accuracy from DreamWorks Animation SKG™, and was refined to meet their demanding standards. After confirming its success at DreamWorks, HP decided to bring HP DreamColor Technologies into the graphic arts market — making it possible for graphics professionals to put into print what customers expect to see.

The first products to feature HP DreamColor Technologies are professional photo printers and digital presses — the HP Designjet Z2100/Z3100 Photo Printer series, the HP Indigo 5000 and ws4500 presses, and the HP Photosmart Pro B9180 Photo Printer. HP DreamColor Technologies will be integrated into HP products coming to market throughout 2007 and beyond.
